Account Manager

Good Sam Enterprises is looking to fill an Account Manager position to build a book of business with campground operators who purchase Campground Solutions products and services, including ad and marketing packages, reservation software, and websites. The Account Manager position will work alongside the Campground Management team to renew, sell new, and service campground operator customers with the products and services that will help their business grow. The Account Managers will be the front-line face of the Good Sam Campground brand. This role is also tasked with building a robust pipeline of future potential clients within the United States and Canada. The role will be assigned a specific regional territory to own. A successful Account Manager will require an entrepreneurial and team-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail as the role will be the primary driver to build and grow the Good Sam Campground network. The role will require both remote-related work as well as travel within a defined sales territory between but not limited to the months of March and September of each year.

The Account Manager role will be directly responsible for carrying out the sales function of the Good Sam Campground business, following a defined sales process for both renewing existing customers and selling new business. This role includes the relationship management portion of the sales function to build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects. The role will be responsible for sales and relationship management throughout the year, seeking to understand current business needs and matching those needs with the products and services provided by the Good Sam Campground business unit. Individuals will also act as the company’s campground expert in gathering market intelligence related to the campground industry. The Account Manager’s success criteria will primarily center around total sales volume for a calendar year, number of campgrounds actively in the pipeline and engagement metrics related to the pipeline, and lastly the representation skills of Good Sam within the territory represented by the individual. The Account Manager will report directly to the Campground Director.

Responsibilities

Renew and sell new campgrounds the Campground Solution’s marketing and advertising packages

  • Implement a renewal strategy for the current customers with a goal of over 90% renewal rate annually on marketing and advertising packages

  • Develop a new campground sales strategy within the defined territory to close new business at over a 30% close rate annually on marketing and advertising packages

  • Provide sales strategy feedback and continuously iterate on new sales strategies

  • Develop renewal packages for each eligible renewal campground and review such strategies with the Campground Management team to ensure optimal pitches

Manage a pipeline of renewal and prospective new customers in a database throughout the year

  • Ensure notes, all activity, and comments are logged in the database with future activities scheduled

  • Provide a weekly update on the current status of the prospective customer pipeline, including any overarching successes, challenges, learnings, and sales stats

  • Develop a 30/60/90-day plan quarterly outlining plans to reach sales objectives, increase conversion of potential new customers, expected outcomes, and needed support

Knowledge & Skills & Fit

  • Sales experience required – B2Bsales experience is recommended

  • Clear communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to think critically and implement effective solutions

  • Willingness to put in more working hours when required

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to thrive in collaborative and fluid environments with rapidly changing priorities

  • Aptitude for learning new technologies and software quickly

  • Appreciation for the outdoor and campground or camping industries

  • Extensive travel throughout assigned territory required. Reliable vehicle, insurance and valid driver’s license required

  • Mileage reimbursement provided for business-related travel within assigned territory

  • Allowance for accommodation and meal expenses provided for business-related travel within assigned territory

Full-time associates are offered a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, PTO, 401k and more! Compensation for this role will be $36,000 base salary plus commission. The commission structure is: Draw = 50% (renew annual estimate) and 20% (new annual estimate) spread evenly over each pay period. Part-time associates are offered access to dental & vision coverage!
