The Infrastructure Engineer is a key interface supporting Technical, Client and Vendor teams, responsible for developing convincing tactical and strategic technical solutions. This requires them to work closely with multiple partners and vendor teams to implement and support architected solutions.

This role requires sound technical knowledge, proven business acumen, and differentiating client interfacing ability. Infra engineers will have to anticipate, create and define innovative technical solutions that meet business needs having an end goal of providing our customers with a great retail experience.

Configuration and Troubleshooting Responsible for planning, designing, integrating, and driving large-scale VMware Infrastructure with a focus on Pure Storage Management and Cisco UCS Hardware, in accordance with Enterprise Infrastructure Engineering specifications and security guidelines.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Architecture, design, implementation, and integration of CISCO UCS X-Series and B-Series infrastructure

  • Architecture, design, implementation, and integrations PURE Storage Arrays

  • Assist in the buildout, operations, and support of the VMware ESXi server infrastructure and its components

  • Pure Storage and VMWare capacity planning and trend analysis on resource usage

  • Participate in the management, monitoring and optimization of infrastructure resources and hosting facilities

  • Maintenance: Installing operating systems and service packs, security patches, and bug fixes

  • Troubleshooting and resolving VMware, CISCO UCS and PURE environment issues, providing root cause analysis

  • Partner with application teams to understand business needs and recommend solutions

  • Act as a reference and resource to Engineering Leadership and Operations

  • Keep informed of developments in Cisco, Pure and VMWare technologies and products

  • Document all processes, system changes/fixes, issues

  • Work in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment

  • Support multiple unique projects occurring at the same time

Must Have:

  • 10+ years of Data Center Infrastructure Management with demonstrated leadership responsibilities

  • 5+ years of hands-on Experience Configuring and Managing Cisco UCS servers (Chassis/Blades), including Intersight and UCS console

  • 5+ years hands-on Experience Configuring and Managing multiple PURE Storage All Flash Arrays across multiple physical locations

  • Expertise in VMware products, tools, and server-side infrastructure with 10+ years of VMware experience (with 6+ in a large enterprise >20 VMHosts and multiple blade chassis)

  • Proficient in VMware technologies like vCenter, Update Manager, HA, DRS, Storage DRS, vMotion, Template & Cloning, etc.

  • Experience with Replication, High Availability, Disaster Recovery and Immutable Storage Solutions

  • Experience managing systems remotely using SSH, RDP, etc. via CLI and scripting

  • Working knowledge of physical and logical networking including virtual switching and firewalls

  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, Proxy, DHCP & Group policies

  • Ability to broker solutions among diverse and geographically disparate teams

  • Experience with Managing Multiple vCenters

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) preferred

  • Extensive knowledge of the fundamentals of VMware ESX and related technologies

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Good communication skills to interact with team members, customers, and managers

  • Have a 4-year college degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent professional experience

Nice To Have:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced team members

  • Experience in setting up and managing vCenters, defining multiple virtual servers on a single host machine, VDI/VROPS, VMware Tanzu

  • Experience with ESXi Hardening as well as server operating systems including Windows Server and Linux System administration

  • Experience with vRealize Automation / vRealize Orchestration, vSphere VM replication, and vROPs

  • Cloud infrastructure experience with connectivity, security, and optimization being a focal point

  • Experience with and able to Install, configure & manage Infrastructure automation using automation platforms (i.e. Ansible, Python, Terraform, Intersight, Aria, etc.)
